What is an enzyme?

An enzyme is a type of protein that acts as a catalyst in biological reactions. Enzymes are essential for many chemical reactions that take place in the body, and they help to regulate and speed up these reactions without being used up in the process. The use of proteolytic enzymes for medicine has a history going back thousands of years, and various such biocatalysts have been used for various ailments in recent decades. 

Digestive enzymes are enzymes that break down food molecules into smaller molecules that can be absorbed by the body. 

How do they help my skin and body?

Enzyme cosmetics are based on more than a quarter of a century of research and development work by scientists at the University of Iceland. The research focused on the proteolytic digestive enzymes of the North Atlantic cod and the development of methods to isolate, purify and use them in skin care products.

Once the cod enzymes have been purified, they are placed in a moisturizing mixture. The enzymes have a limited life after they come into contact with human skin or mucous membranes. 

The cod has extremely powerful digestive enzymes that break down the food at only a few degrees of sea temperature and down to -2°C. This enzymes from the North Atlantic cod stimulate chemical reactions and accelerate, among other things, the body's regeneration and "repair" processes. The use of cod enzymes in health and beauty products is a patented invention of Dr. Jón Braga Bjarnason (1948-2011) professor of biochemistry at the University of Iceland.

COD DOC

How to use it

It is best to rub Coddoc well into the skin or allow it to lie on the skin with or without a bandage. The recommended use is a small amount on a defined area 2-3 times a day.

SPOT DOC

Spotdoc is a moisturizing skin fertilizer, antiseptic and healing. It does not contain preservatives, fat, oil, fragrances, or dyes that can cause allergic reactions. It is a pure Icelandic natural product that in recent years has brought teenagers and young people great success in their fight against pimples and problematic skin, for example on the face and back. 

In Spotdoc there is an increased amount of enzymes and other ingredients, like protein-cleaving, cold-loving trypsin enzyme, that have proven beneficial to many users of the product in cleaning and renewing the skin.

How to use it

The recommended use is a small amount on a defined area 2 times a day. It is safe to use Spotdoc more than twice a day if it is used in special subjects, e.g. only on pimples.

A good way to apply Spotdoc is to spray on the back of the hand and then use a clean finger to apply to the areas. In the first few days, it is normal to feel a slight itching sensation and it is a sign that the renewal and "repair" process has begun. In most cases, those symptoms disappear in 3-5 days.

Spotdoc can be stored at room temperature and remains fully active for at least 18 months from the date of manufacture. It is advisable to avoid storing it in direct sunlight or near a high temperature source.

ZOPURE

The Zopure cosmetics are based on more than a quarter of a century of research and development work by scientists at the University of Iceland. The product, which is the basic ingredient in Zopure cosmetics, is called Penzyme. 

How to use it

It is best to apply the Zopure serum to clean skin 1-2 times a day, e.g. before sleep. The serum does not contain any grease that will transfer to bedding or clothing and it can be stored at room temperature or inside the fridge, just avoid storing it in direct sunlight or at high temperatures. The product will remain effective for at least three years from the date of manufacture.
